ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY

The B.Arch. In Architectural Technology Program is recognized by the Board for the Control of the Architectural Profession, for the purposes of registration as an architect. Commenced in 1991, the program has developed a reputation as an architect. Commenced in 1991, the program has developed a reputation for producing graduates as practical architects with strong expertise in various disciplines of architectural technology. Specific streams offered within the program include environmental controls in building, energy conscious design computer aided design and drafting, and construction technology.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

The B.Arch. in Interior Architecture program is recognized by the Board for the Control of the Architectural Profession. The program is structured to meet the needs of individual seeking the appropriate theoretical education, which is required for a professional as an interior architect. The program is committing to the development of not only a theoretical learning, but also practice of designing, wherein creativity is linked and runs parallel to theory. The main instrument of the course is the design studio which is structured around a series of projects. The studio projects integrate design, technical aspects and the communications streams.

Role of the Faculty

The Faculty of Architecture at RMUTT was founded in 1991 to provide opportunities for study across a range of disciplines dealing with the built environment at various levels. Our interests extend from the micro level, such as a chair, to a building in which a person is housed, As potential custodians of the built environment, Our students are expected to be conversant with the range of important issues.

The Faculty of Architecture at RMUTT is recognized for the character of its courses and the achievement of its graduates. In 2006, the Faculty enrolls about 600 students enroll in a broad range of undergraduate courses. Academic staff offer a combination of professional experience and high-level qualifications of postgraduate. The Faculty promotes practical teaching and leadership in applied research that directly benefits industry and the professions, with industry representatives and professional associates contributing to our course development.

Using innovative teaching and learning methods, we provide opportunities to develop sound communication, technological and management skills. The graduates have excellent employment prospects and are equipped for careers in the practical environment.

Degrees / Courses

1.    Bachelor of Architecture (3 years program)

Applicants are required to have a Diploma in architecture or an approved program. The program offers Architectural Technology degree.

2.    Bachelor of Architecture (5 years program)

Applicants are required to have a Vocational Certificate in an appropriate program or educational qualifications equivalent to Year 12 of secondary education. The program offers Architectural Technology and Interior Architecture degree.
